Family Steenvoorden & Dekker
In 2016, the time finally came: Esther and Norbert turned their dream into a reality when they opened B&B ‘De Moerbei’ in a historic building on the Kikkertstraat in the village centre of De Cocksdorp. They thoroughly renovated the structure and furnished three luxurious guest rooms in it. The younger generation had helped out at ‘t Eibernest since the start, and in
2018, they took over the park management entirely. Esther, Norbert and Lucas absolutely love living here on Texel. “Nowhere else can you find such peace, quiet and space!”
And one last thing…
The ‘Ei’ in the name (the Dutch word means ‘egg’) also refers to Eierland, the polder surrounding the village. This stretch of reclaimed land gets its name from the uninhabited sandbar where, in the past, people used to gather eggs by the thousands. These weren’t stork eggs, by the way – although you might think otherwise judging by the fake stork and nest atop one of the neighbouring houses.
Fantastic bungalow with hospitable owners!
WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR TIME HERE!
For the 3rd time we spent a fantastic holiday at ‚t Eibernest. The owner and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. The bungalows are clean; interior and beds are great. Truly recommendable! Next Summer we will definitely return to ‚t Eibernest“.
