Familie Steenvoorden & Dekker

Your host and hostess of‚
t’Eibernest, in the meantime assisted by Norbert and Esther Dekker-Steenvoorden.
We are grateful for all dear guests we have already welcomed at‚

The northern part of North Holland

Tom and Ans Steenwoorden have lived on the island since 2006 and really feel at ease here. They participate in social life and love the northern part of North Holland. ‘It’s the best place to experience the island feeling‘. Near dunes, beach, lighthouse and the Wadden Sea. They would love to share their experiences with their guests. ‘We have already enjoyed many nice walks in these surroundings and have discovered lovely spots. We would like to make our guests aware of it. It will make their holiday even more special‘

‘By ferry to Vlieland’, Ans immediately responds when asking her for tips. The boat trip from pole 33 to this charming neighbour island is a lovely adventure. Tom and Ans also have a few other nice tips. „We love the Hanenplas-walk along the water, around the golf course, or the look-out at the dune lake of De Robbenjager. A bit hidden, a lovely seat. Or the jetty of the old harbour on the dike, or the view of De Roggesloot, or…..

It is crystal clear: Ans and Tom love these  surroundings!

Opposite side

A big part of their lives they lived on the mainland (called: The opposite side, according to the inhabitants of Texel), in Kortenhoef. Tom was owner of a flower bulb company. We always spent our holiday in southern Spain, until an acquaintance introduced us to Texel. He let a building to tourists which we took over in 1999. As we would like to have contact with our guests, we decided to sell our company, buy ‚t Eibernest and live on Texel. The bungalows (six 4-Persons semi-detached and one 6-Persons detached) were renovated and modernized step by step. 70% of our guests return. That’s a good sign!

‘Ei’ (=egg) relates to Eierland, the polder in which the village is located. The polder was named after an uninhabited sandbar where thousands of eggs used to be collected in the past. No stork eggs by the way, although a fake copy with nest on one of the bungalows might suggest something else….

A small, yet attractive park. Host and hostess are extremely friendly and hospitable.

Attractive, small, cosy park with lots of privacy, on the outskirts of De Cocksdorp, near public transport and cycle routes. Inclusive of dishwasher.

Fantastic bungalow with hospitable owners!

A 10 for ‚t Eibernest. And a 10 for our holiday destination, Texel, Cocksdorp. Not suitable for mass tourists looking for an animation team. Freedom, peace, space and lovely beds. We have heard that the bungalows have recently been renovated and offer even more luxury. So, it’s time for us to make a new reservation!

By accident (due to a mistake of the tourist office we got another apartment) we spent our holiday in a bungalow at ‘t Eibernest. We had a warm welcome. Later on we also received a box of eggs and a newspaper. Accommodation: Clean, nice kitchen, lovely underfloor heating. Steep wooden staircase, yet child-friendly and safe thanks to a wooden partition in front of the children’s bedroom. We enjoyed our view of the meadow with horses.

Lovely, small park with hospitable owners. The bungalow is fitted with all modern conveniences: Kitchen, bathroom with bath and separate shower, two bedrooms with two single beds, a living room with sitting area, TV, radio and DVD-player (in case the weather is not that nice). Terrace with seats both in front of and behind the house. If you kindly ask the owners, you can make free use of the BBQ. De Cocksdorp is a beautiful, small villages with small stands (flowers, plants, vegetables) along the road. There are various restaurants and terraces. I hardly cooked myself.  I loved the long, wide beach!

“Very beautiful, the bungalow has two terraces”.

„The best holiday park on Texel”

For the 3rd time we spent a fantastic holiday at ‚t Eibernest. The owner and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. The bungalows are clean; interior and beds are great. Truly recommendable! Next Summer we will definitely return to ‚t Eibernest“.

„Stop searching! ’t Eibernest is a fantastic bungalow park. All facilities just around the corner! A nice, large supermarket, an excellent fishmonger who also offers lovely snacks and bakes fries “.

„Very clean! At arrival we found a box of eggs on our table. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The bungalow was fully furnished. We even had a dishwasher and a DVD-player. The beds were fantastic. We immediately felt at ease! We will return next year“!
